Caryn’s Corner: Behind the Scenes of the Shooting Shirt Project
Now and then, a project lands that reminds us why we love what we do. This one began with a call from a client preparing for a sporting clay and dove season event, asking for shooting shirts and vests for both men and women.
It sounded straightforward — until we learned that the 2025 Dove Season had cleaned out the market. Sizes were scarce, and we had limited options. That’s when the fun began.
I asked the client to send photos of what they had in mind, since “shooting vests” can mean anything from tactical to fishing style. After several calls and a thorough analysis into vendor catalogs, we discovered Safari-style shooting shirts that hit all the right marks: breathable, functional, and stylish.
We embroidered the company logo over the pocket, and then the magic happened on the back — a 9-inch event logo screen print, perfectly placed to balance form and function. The placement varied slightly between men’s and ladies’ cuts, but both stood out beautifully.

The vests took a few extra phone calls. Most vendors didn’t return messages, but one did — and they turned out to be a perfect fit. Their unisex vests offered great embroidery potential, and their input helped us make the logo pop with subtle detailing.
The final results? Outstanding.
Projects like this remind us how teamwork fuels creativity.
Shawn and I make a dynamic team — blending design, research, and resourcefulness to deliver exactly what the client envisioned… only better.
